Milk Tea Ice Cream in Milk tea Country!

Upon Arriving in Taipei, my friend Perry (Chua) raved about this Milk Tea Ice Cream dessert drink. I'm not that fond of anything too sweet that is why i shrugged it off at first. My first encounter with this Milk Tea store was when we visited Danshui. But since I was so tired from walking, I wanted a sour citrus drink so I opted for their lemon green tea variant. It was good. But I cant say I haven't tasted something similar after the deluge of Milk tea / Tea Stores in the Philippines. On my last day in Taiwan, I accidentally came across this Milk tea outlet (which locals say, is by far the best!) and I tried their Ice Cream Milk Tea.

It was unbelievably heaven on Earth!!!

In the Philippines, Gong Cha offers the same thing. But it's too sweet, and they put the Ice cream on top, which makes it too messy when you puncture it with a straw.

This Ice Cream Milk Tea from Fiftea uses Mango Sherbet as the ice cream component. They settle it at the bottom, put a layer of Oolong, then milk. Its only 35NT. Cheaper by half the amount of its Philippine counterpart.

I wish i sought my friends advice to try it immediately.

A peice of advice though. Zero ice, okay! I had the mistake of putting so much ice. You dont need the ice anymore because of the ice cream.

And you'll be short of the milktea
while you're still halfway through the sherbet.

That's me smiling from ear-to-ear.

Sangria and Paella

The first Monday of my sophomore year in law school was aptly started with Sangria and Paella.

Those nights you need your best girl and some good conversation, you just have to have it over great food and tasteful Sangria.

Our place of junction was Beso Cucina Vinoteka at Bonifacio Global City Centrale.

This dessert spoon was for their delicious creme brulee which I failed to take a photo of.

It's a skillet good for two.
Jumpstart your Mondays with unlimited Sangria!

The Sangria is unlimited during Sunday and Monday Evenings.

The Pregnant Cravings Series

Me and all the food I ate during my 2012 pregnancy!

My very pregnant self.

(c) Nicolai Melicor

I loved swimming so much when I was pregnant.

The occasional lobster cooked in garlic and butter.

This. Mary Grace's griled ensaymada. I never ever liked ensaymadas... like ever. But when I was pregnant, I was constantly craving for this.

Canonigo by Alba - yes, and the entire buffet that goes with it.
 Estuvo delicioso!

Peking duck. This one was from Dragongate but the one from Peking Garden renains ti be my favorite :)

Tabbouleh.
Cibo potato chips with lemon pepper mayo dip. I was so addicted to it that for someone who wouldnt pay for something so unreasonably priced, I kinda had it quite often.
I had a pancake phase. I dont know if it was just me. But all the pregnant people I know had this.

This was from Ginzadon in Maxims. Prime type.

My pregnancy was not the usual one for many reasons. But for a self-confessed foodie, It was a damn good excuse to eat a lot of food... happy food :)
